To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee
This book is a really popular classic in our library. It was written by a woman called Harper Lee in 1960, and is the only book she has ever written. Harper Lee started a second book called The Long Goodbye, but never finished it. Since 1964 she hasn't talked to journalists so we don't know why she didn't continue writing. Journalist Marja Mills has just written a biography of Harper Lee, but there is some controversy around this new book. Mills says that Lee co-operated with her in writing the book, but Lee says she didn't help. The book is due out later this year.

She will be signing books at the Children's Book Shop in Kilbirnie on Tuesday, May 10, at 4pm.
